How face matching works

CelebSpotter compares faces in photos you choose against a known-celebrity recognition service. Here is the plain version of what happens — and what does not.

What happens on a scan

1. You intentionally upload or capture a photo.
2. The image is sent securely to our servers.
3. Amazon Rekognition looks for known celebrities and returns names, confidence, and face box coordinates for on-screen overlays.
4. You see Solid or Possible results in the app.

What we do not do

• We do not use your images to train AI models.
• We do not store face embeddings or biometric templates.
• We do not run background scanning of your camera roll.
• Analytics stay off until you opt in.

History

When a scan finds celebrities, the image and results may be saved to your search history (anonymous session or optional email account). You can delete history from the app. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
