How to name who’s on screen
You know that face from the show, movie, or commercial — tip of the tongue — and you only have what’s on the paused screen. CelebSpotter is for that moment: about ten seconds from pause to a name.
It is built for the sofa — not for ID checks, not for watching people in the street, and not for “which celebrity do I look like.”
Three steps
- Snap or upload a photo — pause and take a picture of the person, or pick a still you already have.
- We look at the face — the photo goes to Amazon Rekognition, which looks for a known celebrity.
- Get a name and confidence — Solid means we’re pretty sure; Possible means it might be them.
Not a lookalike app
If you want to know which celebrity you resemble, that is a different product. CelebSpotter tries to identify who’s actually on screen in the photo you choose.

Is CelebSpotter a lookalike or “which celeb do I look like” app?
No. It is for naming the person on a show, movie, or commercial when you recognise the face but not the name — not selfie lookalikes.
Do I need an account?
No. You can scan as a guest. Email is optional if you want spots on another device.
Does it work on iPhone?
Yes. Get the iPhone app from the App Store, or try the free browser scanner.
Will you train AI on my photos?
No. Detection photos are processed for your scan and are not used to train models.
Can matches be wrong?
Yes. We’re in beta. Treat results as a hint — especially for lookalikes, crowds, side profiles, or blurry TV stills.
